Absolutely we can repair just a section. There are some limitations though. For example certain sewers were made from materials that as they age are no longer structurally sound and the connection between the new and old pipes can become a failure point in the future. We will know the type of sewer pipe you have and recommend the best repair solution for you.
We do offer trench-less or no dig repair solutions. These solutions do have their limitations though. They can not be used on sewers that are crushed, bellied, or broken. Trench-less systems use a sleeve coated in epoxy to reline the existing sewer, so any imperfections in the old pipe will still exist in the new sleeve. In many cases trench-less can even be more money than traditional digging.
Even newer houses with sewer made from modern plastics are not immune to sewer breaks and repairs. Trees grow, ground settles, and mistakes happen. Plastic sewers can last much longer, upwards of 100 years or more, but are no match for Mother Nature. Tree roots can grow around a pipe, causing it to bend and break. Foundations settle causing pipes to crack. Putting in that new flower bed and you accidentally break the sewer with your shovel.
A regular sewer camera inspection, included in our Plumbing Comfort Plans can help spot these problems before they cause a clog.
